Steve Mahoney This is a Zake/City Of Dawn masterwork. Ambient drones which depart this earth and take you on an electronic journey. Zake and City Of Dawn are very formidable duo. A rating of 10 out of 10 from me. I wander. It's a great album.

The gaye device This is beautiful. Laid back looking at the winter night sky at Device Manor. It's a perfect accompaniment.

Erik Forehand amazing atmosphere. the cover art sums up the vibe Favorite track: Shenandoah.

Chuckie-baby I’ve listened to the entire Complex Silence and Constant catalogues, and this album is right up there with the best!

I like the way it just flows from one track to another. But, I am especially attracted to “Shenandoah”! I can close my eyes and imagine myself sitting on a mountain top looking down on the lazy bends of that river as it cuts it way through the valley.

In my music collection, I have labelled this genre as being “Ambispherone” (Ambi-sphe-rone = Ambient / Atmospheric / Drone.

Wander was the very first release under Zakè Drone Recordings. Beautifully remastered by James Bernard at his Ambient Mountain House studio in the winter of 2022.

‘Wander' is an expression of slowing down. Collaboratively written during the winter months where days linger, frozen in time. The cold temperatures and darker days significantly influenced the writing process and resolve of both artists resulting in five immersive and hypnotizing dronescapes.

“This collaborative album between zakè and City of Dawn is the first release under Zakè Drone Recordings; an imprint used to publish zakè’s own material along with collaborative projects involving his work. ‘Wander’ is an expression of slowing down. Collaboratively written during the winter months where days linger, frozen in time. The cold temperatures and darker days significantly influenced the writing process and resolve of both artists resulting in five immersive and hypnotizing dronescapes.

Wander opens with a glacial drone piece of minimalism with only subtle changes being noted throughout the piece as the collaborators tend to focus on a small amount of sound and tightly wind that and play with its dynamics, fluctuating it’s textures and intensities to build and retreat. There is both a form of calmness and a whole lot of isolation. If you are a fan of the purer form of drone music, then this will be right up your alley."
